This is the second week in-a-row that a Grizzly women’s soccer player has taken home the award.
Morland, a 5-foot-4 Gold Coast, Australia, native, recorded her first career hat-trick on August 31 in GGC’s 8-0 rout of Brewton-Parker (Ga.). Morland leads GGC with four goals on the season and is currently ranked in the Top 50 in five different categories. Of note, the midfielder ranks sixth in assists (3) and 11th in points (11).
“This is a great honor for Amy and is a testament to the team’s overall effort,” stated GGC head coach Chris Kouns.
The Grizzlies are 3-1 on the year, picking up wins against the Cumberlands, 2-1, and Life University (Ga.), 7-0, and Brewton-Parker.
Georgia Gwinnett hosts Middle Georgia State for a Labor Day showdown at 6:00 p.m. at the Grizzly Soccer Complex in Lawrenceville.
