The Tom Robinson Football Stadium at North Gwinnett High School was empty this past Friday since the varsity football team had no game. However, North Gwinnett’s other sports teams, specifically the lady dawgs, still brought their best. The school’s varsity competition cheerleading team, varsity volleyball team, and varsity softball team walked away this week with several victories for North Gwinnett.
This past Saturday, North Gwinnett’s varsity competition cheerleading team competed in the Longhorn Cheer Classic at Lambert High School. Several other teams performed, but no one could score higher than the lady dawgs who walked away with first place!
Additionally, the varsity volleyball team took on Duluth, Mill Creek, Centennial, and Tucker on Tuesday and Thursday. Because they defeated all four teams, the volleyball team has a record of 35 wins and zero losses this season and is also 6-0 in region play. As a result, the Lady Dawgs will compete in the area tournament on October 8th as the number one seed.
The varsity softball lady dawgs continued the winning streak by winning all of their games this past week against Grayson, Habersham Central, and Duluth. Over the course of the week, the lady dawgs scored 21 runs and only allowed 2 runs to be scored by their opponents. After this week, the varsity softball team has 19 wins and four losses, and a record of 9-3 in region.
Congratulations to all of the North Gwinnett lady bulldogs teams!
